So like I said before, when we went down to Oklahoma to shoot Jared and Kylie's amazing wedding, we were fortunate enough to get to stay with David and Amber (one of my bestest pals from college) and their adorable baby boy!
He is just the happiest little guy I think I've ever seen. He is SO smiley! Amber and David are amazing parents. They work together very well and life revolves around him...in a good way...the way it should. It was cool to see that.
Now, he wasn't too sure about us when we got there...but he quickly warmed up to me and in no time was flashing that good-lookin' grin my way. =) Dac on the other hand, poor guy, pretty much just got stared at until the last day we were there. He barely even blinked. It was hilarious! Dac thought it was his glasses...sure...that's it. =) He was mesmerized by something...that's for sure.
Anyway, while we were down there we HAD to get a few shots. He just happened to be 6-months! Here's a few. They're definitely not what we had hoped to to get but we had fun doing it.
David and Amber - thanks again for letting us stay!! It was good to catch up. Can't wait to do it again! T-man, thanks for being so fun and cute! =)
This weekend is a wedding weekend for us...which means not much else gets accomplished...including blog posts. But keep checking back, I promise we'll have posts again! We'll have two weddings, a bridal session, and a family to post. Then Labor Day weekend....look out....lots of sessions then!

Remember these guys? Yeah, we love them. They are one fabulous family...let me tell you. When we took these pictures a few months ago, we already knew we'd be photographing this surprise anniversary party. We were pumped from the beginning because these guys are so much fun to be around! Lindsey ensured us we'd have a great time and sure enough, she did not disappoint! =)
Lindsey (along with her brother and sisters) literally spent months planning this special shindig for her mom and dad. She had everything decorated for a cool, elegant, rustic vibe, which I thought was just perfect. Her mom's family is from Germany so Lindsey had them take pictures of themselves with a note to the happy couple and those were framed at the party since they couldn't be there in person. Very cool. Everyone had a great time yelling surprise (and they really were surprised - how great is that!?!) and telling old stories. Lindsey gave a touching speech and I even found myself tearing up! Who knows what my problem was. Maybe it was my hurt leg. Yeah, that's it. =)
One of the coolest (and sometimes most awkward) things about photography is that you have to step into some of the most private, intimate moments in someone's life...and they let you! I'm in the dressing room as a bride gets her dress on and her mom adjusts her veil, we witness the very first moment the groom sees that beautiful bride, we hear family stories...sometimes embarasing (but funny) ones, we also see tears, and in this case we got to view a really cool slideshow she put together of their family's whole life together. =) It was pretty awesome and her mom is actually quite the photographer! Anyway, here's a glimpse of the night.
Told you. Cool family! God has really blessed us with these opportunities.

These two shared some college classes together and hit it off after several shy "good mornings". They are both criminal justice majors gunning to protect and serve and I just happen to think they're two of the sweetest people ever!
We had a great time doing this session out on Rusty's family land. It involved lots of hiking, knee-high brush, and several "stay calm Alisha, no snake is going to eat you alive" pep talks to myself. =) It was work but it was worth it for the cool spots we found. Check them out!
We are so excited for Rusty and Amanda's wedding over Labor Day weekend! It's at a quaint country church (a sister church to the one we go to to) where we just happen to have sunrise service each year. Anyway, can't wait!! These two are fun to be with!

I love that we're finally able to get caught up on blogging! Last month we photographed another one of my cousin's (Amelia) weddings. It was in Texas and was a good time! Russel and Amelia are both goofy as all get out, they laugh a lot, and they know how to have a good time! =) That makes our job fun. The wedding itself was pretty short and sweet and the reception was a blast. Tons of people took advantage of the dance floor. That's what I like to see! Here's a re-cap:

Today I took my "little sister" (for those of you who don't know, I'm a BIG for Big Brothers Big Sisters) to the Renaissance Festival here in town. It wasn't quite like what I remember going to in high school but was still fun and she had a good time. We walked around looking at renaissance-ish things, smelled turkey legs, she got her face painted, we watched a sword fight, and she even found her a couple of beaded ear cuffs to buy. Ooh - AND she got to participate in the jester's magic show. She got to "cut" a poor soul's had off. =)
We did some other fun things this weekend too but more on that later. For now, here's some pics of the festival.
