These depressed feelings came about as I was looking through these pictures. They just scream "SUMMER TIME!! YEAH!" Yep, just like that. As I looked through them, I actually got extremely excited because IT'S SUMMER! =) Then, I remembered, I don't get summers anymore. I think we all deserve summers! Don't you?!
Ok, so let's quickly move past my pity party and onto this ridiculously adorable child and all the fun she had enjoying Summer!
Steve and Cori, we had an absolute blast playing with her, just like we always do.Thanks for having us over! She's got so much personality which I hope these photos capture.
That's one of our favorite things about photography. We have the opportunity to capture real memories...more than just what a kid looks like at a certain age... but what they act like, do for fun, and the expressions they make. We strive to get fun images that, 20 years from now, will take you back. More on that later. For now, just enjoy! =)
Justin and Erica had a beautiful May 17th wedding at Prairie Pines Christmas Tree Farm in Wichita. The location was full of gardens and natural goodness and they just added to the ambiance with more gorgeous flowers and other spectacular details. Pictures don't do it justice, I assure you. I loved how they made the ceremony their own. Erica recorded herself singing and played it during the ceremony and Justin played the sax. Very cool!
The reception was held in a barn and it was decorated very elegantly and spring-like with more fabulous flowers and my personal favorite, a candy bar, among other things. =) Another fun part was the first dance. The two took dance lessons and pulled some great moves to Brighter Than Sunshine.
I'll let the pictures tell the rest:
Hey guys! Thanks so much for letting us be part of your beautiful day. We had a great time!! You two are so sweet and fun to work with AND great with each other. Congrats!
These are just gorgeous..Congratulations Erica and Justin
(06.08.09)LOVE the portrait by the gate with the arch! But I'm sure everybody's fave has to be the groomsman with the garter on his head... Everybody loves a goofball!

Anyway, the wedding was beautiful as was the bride, and it was a great time to see lots of family that I haven't seen in quite a while. =) The first couple of days we were there we got to just hang out and enjoy everyone's company. I ate lots of good food too... tasty BBQ, fish, cobbler, cake, cake, cake and sweet tea, sweet tea, sweet tea... to name a few. I came back with a huge belly ache and vowed to never do it again...until next time.
The day before the wedding, I helped Courtney and my Aunt Cindy (Courtney's mom) decorate for the reception. Then, we relaxed by getting mani/pedis before the rehearsal dinner that night. Later that night, all of Courtney's bridesmaids stayed with one of her friends in her gorgeous home. She was such a great hostess and I had a great time catching up with Courtney's friends I knew from growing up and getting to know those I didn't know already. They are all fabulous and welcomed me right in. Whew!
Oh, and I edited these on my laptop, so they appear pretty dark on the Web site... sorry about that. The pictures aren't great anyway, but you get the idea. Just ignore the darkness...pretend everyone has a golden tan. =)
Like I said, the wedding went off without a hitch and I'm honored to have been a part of it. On our way back, we stopped to visit an IKEA. We love IKEA's stuff but had never actually been in a store. It was cool but I'm not gonna lie...it was a little overwhelming to say the least. We found some stuff we want for our new house that we've yet to find. Sigh. That's a whole other story.
Now, I think I need a vacation to recover from vacation! =) It was so much fun though. I always feel right at home down there and love to visit. I think Dac even feels a little more at home down there now too. I hope you all had a great holiday weekend.
Stay tuned for pictures from Justin and Erica's wedding we shot a couple weeks ago!
Great pics. You looked great Alisha! What were you so worried about? I love the picture of you and Dac...doesn't Dac give you that "you're weird" look often?? Love ya!
(05.29.09)They're building an IKEA store near us. Then you'll have ANOTHER reason to come see us!
(05.30.09)
Anyway, like I said before, we'll be without our computer for a few days so I'm blogging twice in one day. =) I couldn't go without posting a couple peaks from the wedding. I'll tell you more about its awesomeness when I post more of the pictures. Enjoy!
Erica and Justin - thanks so much for having us capture your big day! We'll have more to show you soon but until then, enjoy that honeymoon! =)

Thank you guys so much! We just love them!! :)
