Remember these two? I thought you might! =) I am just so happy to know them and we're both thrilled to pieces that we got to capture their day.

Before I get into the wedding, I'll give you a little background. Like most of our clients, Josh and Laci were referred to us by someone else. (We have been so blessed with referrals and are very grateful for them, so THANK YOU!) That "someone else" happened to be two of our very great friends, Matt and Kelly. Josh is Matt's cousin and Matt was kind enough to send them our way! (I stole this picture from Kelly's blog!)

On a side note, because Matt and Kelly were here for the wedding, they got to stay with us at Casa Call where we played some Settlers of Catan and ate yummy donuts! =) Hooray for friend time!

Anyway, back to wedding weekend. Friday night, they of course had their rehearsal dinner but it was even more special because Josh and Matt's grandparents (Oma and Opa) were celebrating 60 years of married bliss and their family had the sweetest little reception for them. You'll see a few pictures of that below but basically, each grandkid presented Oma and Opa a figurine that represented him/her and told a story or two that made everyone laugh and/or cry. And let me tell you what... there wasn't a dry eye in the house... including mine! It was such a cool thing to be a part of.

As for the wedding, it was just as sweet as I expected. Laci was an awesome bride and managed to stay incredibly composed all day. They hung out in the biggest bridal room I've ever seen and all the girls got pampered with hair, makeup, and pizza! Meanwhile, the guys huddled around i-phones to watch the World Cup game. You can imagine the upset when we didn't win. The reception was just as great and as time went on there were TONS of people out on the dance floor having a blast! It was fun! I even caught myself bustin' a move a time or two. (Oh come on now, you can't expect me to completely hold back... working or not!!) =)

All this to say, it was a great weekend! We wish Josh and Laci all the happiness in the world. I know they'll have it! Congrats guys!

Sorry we've been MIA for so long but WOW, what a week....or year, rather. You'll probably remember, it all started when my cousin Ryan passed away on April 10. He had been battling Pancreatic Cancer off an on for around 3 years. My cousins and I are very close so this was a hard blow. A BIG TIME hard blow. I spent a few days in Minnesota for the memorial service and when I got back... I believe it was like a day and a half later... I found out my grandpa Carl (same side of the family as Ryan) was diagnosed with stage IV Colon Cancer. Ouch. Are you kidding me? This had to be a joke!! Unfortunately, it wasn't. He had surgery to remove a large tumor from his colon but of course it had already spread. Things progressed quickly after that. He had a blood transfusion last Thursday and decided not to attempt Chemo, so on Friday, they called in Hospice. Dac and I headed down there Sunday. I am so happy I was able to see him, give him a hug, and tell him I loved him, but am devastated that it meant seeing him in his final days. He passed away just a few minutes after we left Tuesday morning. My dad and I headed back to Louisianna Wednesday morning. The grandkids planned and put together the memorial service. That was such a rough job but I think he'd be pleased. Dad and I headed home Friday after the service. To say I'm completely exhausted would be a total understatement. I don't think I've ever been so tired and so drained as I am right now. Quite frankly, I think we've just had to endure a bit too much in such a short time. Thankfully though, I know God is with us and through this he has and will continue to do great things. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, patience, and understanding during this tough time!

Now then, on to less depressing things!! =) About a month ago, we photographed Joey and Samantha's wedding. You might remember them from this post. I loved their wedding. It was super laid back but yet very glam! Sammi was gorgeous and the decor was very reminiscent of a Tiffany's box! It doesn't get much more glam than that! The bridesmaids even got the sweetest little Tiffany's necklaces they wore for the wedding. Like I said, the wedding and reception were laid back, and so were the happy couple. Both seemed so at ease and so in love! Here are a few of our favorites from the day:

Well guys...it's been a long week. I woke up last Sunday morning and learned that my cousin, Ryan, had passed away during the night after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. To say we were all devastated would be an understatement. Ryan means so much to each of us!

I just got back from a few days in Minnesota for his memorial service. This is one of the hardest, if not THE hardest weeks I've ever had. Thankfully I have a great, close family that made the trip more bearable. Because of this trip we had to cancel and/or reschedule a couple photo sessions. We also took a little longer to get pictures out this week. I want to thank you all for being so great during this time. I know for a few of you this has been a big inconvenience. Thanks for understanding. We have the best clients... hands down!!

That same Sunday, we had an engagement session with the WONDERFUL Josh and Laci. I know I was probably a complete space cadet but we really did have a great time with these two. Josh and Laci are very sincere and I love that they're goofy with each other! They are just so much fun to be around. We can't wait for their June wedding!!

Enjoy!

She turned twooooooo! Our awesome little pal (who you probably remember from here and here) turned TWO last month. I can hardly believe it! =) Cori and Steve (her parents) threw her the cutest little barnyard party. It was adorable and the kids had a good time! Here's just a few pictures from the day...including....the saga of the cow. Poor cow. Stay tuned for more pictures of her 2-year session we did the next day.

Oh how I didn't want to get up this morning. Oh how I love my snuggle pug. Oh how I wish I could curl up on the couch with my toasty blanket and take a nap. Oh how I wish I could curl up with my toasty blanket on the couch and take a nap...WITH my snuggle pug. Oh, there's just one problem....... THE SNUGGLE PUG ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE COUCH!!!!!

Gotta give him credit for trying though.... EVERY SINGLE MORNING.
