Hello long lost blog friends. I guess I'm really the lost one. I sort of took a blogging hiatus (obviously) but I'm back! =) I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and that the new year got off to a great start. We had wonderful holidays! I know I promised to have pictures of all our get togethers but I guess I'm a big fat liar because I really dropped the ball this time!! Sorry!

So today, I've decided to do a little recap of 2009. I selected just a few of my favorite wedding and engagement shots we blogged last year. We were really so fortunate to work with great couples and had a blast this year. Here's a look!

Tada! Which is your favorite? I'm also going to post a few of our favorite kids/family/senior portraits too so stay tuned for that!

Liz:

My favorites are pobably everyone that has goofy looking bald guy in them. Actually, my vote is for the picture where the couple is running to hug each other. I think that is so neat!

Adrienne:

I love them all!!

Remember these cute love birds? They tied the knot a while back. Rusty and Amanda planned a perfectly sweet and simple wedding in Rusty's home church outside of town. (Am I the only person who used to watch the Statler Brothers show on Saturday nights when I'd spend the night with grandma and grandpa? They had this section of the show where they played the piano and sang gospel songs. One of the songs they sang was "The Little Brown Church in the Vale". I always get that song stuck in my head when I think about Rusty's church...even though his church isn't brown....it's white....but I digress.)

ANYWAY - it was a great wedding to be a part of. Amanda and Rusty are just so in love and were giddy with excitement on their big day. They are both so super sweet and we couldn't be happier for them!

This past weekend was an exciting one for us. First of all, it was Arkalalah, and though I wasn't 100% in the Arkalalah spirit this year, I still had a good time and still ate my weight in fatty Arkalalah cuisine. Wednesday night, I headed downtown with my pal Heather to eat and watch the night parade. Friday, I went on my traditional Jeffy Pup and Pickle-O run with Kayla. That night, we went and ate pizza and ice cream with our good friends Tarl and Joy. Saturday, was parade day. Dac and I chowed down at the pancake feed, then met up with Tarl, Joy, John and Anna (more good friends) for street games and the parade. Of course, I had to have a funnel cake for that. When we left the parade, I felt horrible. I mean truly miserable...but there was still more eating to be done. We had chili and I had made snack mix, cake balls, and brownies for snacks! Yikes! The next morning, we (of course) had donuts. Needless to say a diet has begun! =) We had a great time with friends though. It's such an interesting group. There's so many differences, so many similarities, and everyone gets along fabulously! Unfortunately, I didn't take a single picture. =( We're planning a New Years extravaganza though, so I'll be sure to get pictures of that.

Sunday, we went to WICKED and LOVED IT! It's been quite some time since I've been to a musical and it didn't disappoint. I LOVE musicals. Why I majored in Journalism instead of Theatre...is beyond me. I mean, who needs raw talent anyway? Right? I guess my practical side won that battle. =) Now, it's back to the grindstone. Pictures are being edited and ordered and yes, even blogged! More to come soon!

OK, wow, we are so behind on blogging it's not even funny. If it makes you feel any better, we're only neglecting our blog in an effort to get proofs out sooner. (Maybe it just makes me feel better!) So, if you're waiting on yours, hang in there!! I promise they're coming! =)

Back in, gulp, August, we got to spend a whole day with Kayla and Chet. The day was full of fun, laughs, and even a few happy tears that these two found a perfect match in each other. The wedding was beautiful and so was everybody in it. It was our first Catholic wedding to photograph, so that was cool and interesting. These guys know how to party it up too, so the reception was a blast. I even got to catch up with some old friends while we were there. Oh, AND, Kayla and Chet allowed plenty of time for pictures. This was great because we got to take just the two of them out and about for some cool portraits. It was the perfect time for them to enjoy each other and their just-married selves! =) Here's a quick glance at the day.

On a side note, Trick-or-Treat was last night (our town did it then because this weekend is ARKALALAH! Yes, I'm excited.) and we had a good time. We have several friends with little kiddos that stopped by so that was fun. =) We saw several lady bugs, soldiers, and Michael Jackson's. Did I mention Arkalalah is this weekend? =)

So, waaaaaaay back before Chet and Kayla's big day, we shot these Bridals. Kayla made a beautiful bride didn't she? Both she and Chet work and/or volunteer for our fire department so of course we hit up the station as one of our locations. It was fun! Here's just a glance at our session:

I promise we WILL get around to posting their wedding pictures (and everyone else's sessions we've yet to post) so hang in there!

This weekend was a busy weekend for us as far as photography goes. We had our first mini-session extravaganza Saturday and it was so COOL. Literally. We froze our tails off!! It was SO worth it though. We had a great time and got to meet and see a bunch of cool families!!  All in all I'd say it was a big success. We're definitely talking about doing similar events next year.

Sunday, we did a "we've practically been friends since we were born and now we're seniors and want pictures together" session. I think sessions like these are such a great idea. While we're on the topic of random sessions I want to say I think it's so important to get pictures when you want them - to document life at that moment - even if there's no big "reason" to get them done. Life is more than graduations, weddings, and babies. It's everything! Anyway, more pictures to come soon!

You may remember last month Dac and I headed down to Oklahoma to photograph the wedding of the fabulous Jared and Kylie. I met both of them through some mutual friends at OSU but it was fun kind of getting to know them better that weekend. It's so obvious they're great for each other and I couldn't be happier for them!

The wedding and reception were beautiful, Kylie was a gorgeous bride, and everyone had a great time!! All in all I'd say it was a perfect day! =) Here's a glance at the details and festivities:

To the happy couple, thank you so much for having us be a part of your big day! We had a wonderful time and wish you guys all the best!
